Now that you are older, the opportunities available to you through Girl Scouting become limitless – you can even become a Program Aide, a Counselor or Volunteer in Training, or earn your Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards!
These opportunities can jump start your future in a big way by broadening your experiences, building new skills, helping you make connections in the community, and rocking your resume.
The Girls Guide to Girl Scouting handbooks for each level has detailed requirements for earning additional leadership awards. Here is what you can earn and/or become trained in, at each Girl Scout level beginning at fourth grade:
Check back often, as more awards workshops will be scheduled throughout the year.
The Bronze Award Workshop is for the troop leaders of the Girl Scout Juniors who plan on working toward their Girl Scout Bronze Award.
The Silver Award Workshop is for Girl Scout Cadettes who plan on working toward their Girl Scout Silver Award and parents/leaders/advisors. Parents/leaders/advisors are encouraged to attend; however, because this workshop is all about the girl, they may not attend in place of the girl. Girls are required to attend a Girl Scout Silver Award workshop before they start working on the Girl Scout Silver Award.
The Gold Award Workshop is for Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors who plan on working toward their Girl Scout Gold Award and parents/leaders/advisors. Parents/leaders/advisors are encouraged to attend; however, because this workshop is all about the girl, they may not attend in place of the girl. Girls are required to attend a Girl Scout Gold Award workshop before they start working on the Girl Scout Gold Award.
Are you interested in leadership, helping out at Girl Scout events, and being a role model? The Program Aide training will help girls in grades 6-8th become confident, effective leaders and will provide them the skills to work with younger Girl Scout troops and groups.
Discover the leader in you! Serve as a positive role model and mentor younger campers while you facilitate activities that provide fun with a purpose. Our Counselor-In-Training Workshops take place during resident camp in the summer months at Camp Wasiu II. See our Camp Leadership Opportunities page for more details.
Additional trainings for girls can be scheduled throughout the membership year and can come to you if you have the minimum number of girls!
