Have you ever wished that all the answers to the most common questions about Girl Scouting could be found in one place? Then Volunteer Essentials is for you! It includes:
Girl Scouts’ safety guidelines have historically been outlined in our risk management handbook, Safety-Wise. After 2010, the basic guidelines for working with girls can be found in Volunteer Essentials, and the guidelines for specific activities can be found in Safety Activity Checkpoints. This new electronic format allows us to maintain our commitment to the environment by using our resources wisely!
Two great resources
Volunteer Essentials and the Safety Activity Checkpoints are meant to be used together and were created to replace “Safety-Wise”. These will become our main risk management documents moving forward. If you have an old copy of “Safety-Wise”, the information can still be used, just be sure to download the Safety Wise Updates available to use with your copy.
Safety Activity Checkpoints by Activity
Here is a quick way to get directly to the safety information you need. Just click on an activity to see its safety activity checkpoints.
In addition to Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity Checkpoints you will also find many more forms, for girls and adults, as well as training and volunteer resources, including, the Blue Book, a sample troop agenda, a first parent meeting agenda and the troop leader position description, all under Volunteer Forms and Resources. We hope that you find these resources to be valuable, whether you’re just starting out as a Girl Scout volunteer or are a seasoned veteran!
