 FAQs

    Activate and access your account
    • Do I need to activate a separate account for each member of my family?
Yes, the parent/guardian needs to activate a separate account for each member that they want to register and login to each account separately.
    • “Customer Not Found.” What do I do?

Your name and email must be an exact match to the information that we have on file.  Misspelled words, nick names, inaccurate spacing or characters will prevent you from proceeding.  DO NOT select the “New Members” button.  Contact the Help Desk for assistance.

    • Why did I receive the message “Duplicate Customer Match Found?”

Do not continue. You already have a customer profile in the system.  Try and activate your account by selecting the “Current & Past Members” link on the homepage. If that fails, contact the Help Desk for assistance.

    • How do I activate my account and renew my membership if I don’t have an email address?

You will need to complete a paper registration form and submit it to the council office with payment.

    • Why didn’t I receive the email to create my user I.D. and password?

Check your spam/junk email folder.  If it is not there, contact the Help Desk for assistance.

    • I forgot my username and/or password. How do I login?

Click on “Forgot Username?” or “Forgot Password?” on the homepage in the Log In box.  Remember that they are case sensitive.  If you are still unable to login, contact the Help Desk for assistance.

    Payments
    • How do I pay my $12 membership fee online?

It must be submitted using a debit or credit card and may take up to 24 hours to process.

    • What if I don’t have a debit or credit card?

Cash, check, Financial Assistance or Cookie Dough payments must accompany completed paper registrations and be submitted to the council office for processing.

      Council Address:

Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada

    Renew membership
    • How do I know if my membership is current?

After you login, look in the “Membership Info” box.   If you are currently registered, your Membership Status will be displayed as “Active.”  If not, it will say “You have no active memberships” and either “Renew for 1 year” or “Join Now.”

    • Why don’t I see a button to “renew” my membership?

You may already be registered. Look in the top half of the “Membership Info” box.  It shows “Membership” and the valid through date.  If it is not correct, contact the Help Desk for assistance.

    • How do I select or change my Troop/SU?

Members are re-registered to their current troop or service unit.  This information is displayed in the membership email confirmation that you receive. Your current or new troop leader needs to contact the council registrar at registrar@gssn.org to request a transfer.

    • Can a graduating senior purchase a Lifetime Membership online?

No.  You must complete and submit a paper registration with payment to the council office for processing.

    • Why is “Member Since” date on my account wrong?

Please ignore this field; it is system-generated and does not actually apply to Girl Scouts.

    • Why does my Membership Card reflect the wrong date?

The card reflects the date of the current membership year and will not reflect the new date until 10/1 of the new membership year.

    • How do update my daughter’s school and grade?

This will need to be completed by council staff.  Please send an email to registrar@gssn.org with the updated information.  Include your full name, address, contact information and troop affiliation.

    Troop Management
    • How do I view information about my troop(s)?

You must be a registered and active (01) Leader for the current membership year to view troop information.   To gain access:

      • After you activate your online account, login and select “Troop Management.”
      • If you are a leader of more than one troop, select the troop that you want to access from the “My Troops” drop down menu.
      • Once you select a troop, you will be able to view the troop’s meeting information and an up-to-date list of girl and adult members.
      • Click on a member’s name to view their contact and/or guardian information.
    • Why are some members missing?

      • The member has not renewed their membership.
      • Paper forms have been submitted to the council office and have not been processed yet.
      • The member may have been registered to another troop and needs to be transferred to your troop (members that renew their membership online are re-registered to their current troop).  DO NOT select ADD GIRL/ADULT to add members to your troop. This creates a duplicate record in the data base.  Contact the council registrar at registrar@gssn.org to request a transfer.
    • How do I renew my troop memberships online?

GSSN strongly recommends that registrations be renewed directly by adult members and parent/guardians of girl members.  WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT LEADERS RENEW THEIR TROOP MEMBERS ONLINE.  If, however, a troop decides to renew memberships online, they are required to:

      • Collect completed and signed membership registration forms for each member.
      • Black out any credit card information on the forms after entry.
      • Complete the renewals by 9/30 of the current year.
      • Store the forms in a secure location until the end of the membership year – shred them after 9/30.
      • Submit signed copies of member registration forms to the council upon request.
    • What happens to the Troop Management roster after 9/30?

Members that have NOT renewed for the new membership year will drop off the troop roster.  DO NOT select ADD GIRL/ADULT to re-register members via “Troop Management” after 9/30.  This creates duplicate records in the data base.  Your adults and parent/guardians will need to activate their accounts and renew their memberships online themselves.

    Update customer record
    • How do I update personal information?

After you login to your account, click “edit” next to the information that you want to update.  To add an additional email or phone number, click “Add New Communication Method.”  Only use a girl's email address if she is 13 or older. Please correct this information if necessary.

    • I have made changes to my personal information. Why doesn’t it show up?

Some information takes up to 24 hours to update once it has been changed.  If it doesn’t show up after 24 hours, contact the Help Desk for assistance.

    • My name has changed. How do I update this information?

Name corrections and changes need to be completed by council staff.   Please send an email to registrar@gssn.org with the updated information.  Include your full name, address, contact information and troop affiliation.

    • How do I update my employer information?

This will need to be completed by council staff.  Please send an email to registrar@gssn.org with the updated information.  Include your full name, address, contact information and troop affiliation.
