 Life at Camp Wasiu II

​Facility
Camp Wasiu II is located in Tahoe National Forest high in the Sierra Nevada near Sierra City, California.  At Camp Wasiu II campers live in platform tents in units of 8-24 girls and 2-4 staff.  Facilities include a beautiful swimming pool, a new challenge course, hiking trails, a premier star-viewing area and equipment, a pristine lake within walking distance, flushing toilets and showers with hot water, and a large indoor dining hall/recreation area.
 
Activities
Depending on the age of the camper and staffing expertise general camp activities may include swimming, canoeing, archery, stargazing, hiking, badge work, campfires, singing, games, crafts, challenge course, and cookouts.  Campers are also responsible for daily unit and all-camp kapers. Campers may work towards badges, patches, or Journey awards.  Activities are geared to the age level of the camper and are contingent upon the weather.  All activities are led by a trained, qualified, caring staff selected from around the world.  Each camper will receive a "Badge Documentation" sheet that lists any badge requirements that were completed at camp. 
 
Daily Schedule
A typical day starts at 7:00 in the morning with breakfast at 8:00.  After breakfast campers return to their units to complete their unit and all-camp kapers before heading out for the morning's activities around 9:30.  Lunch is served at 12:00 noon followed by a short down time.  Around 1:30 in the afternoon campers set out for their afternoon activities which last until a little before supper, which is served at 5:30.  After supper, campers participate in unit or all-camp activities which may include a campfire program, a scavenger hunt, a talent show, or anything else that the campers plan.  Lights-out is typically 9:00-10:00 at night, depending on the age of the campers.
