CAMP WASIU II - SUMMER RESIDENT CAMP

Camp Wasiu II, operated by Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada, is located just above 6,000 feet near Sierra City, CA in the Tahoe National Forest. Serene lakes and towering trees surround our 45-acre camp.  The beauty of our location, combined with pleasant summer weather of warm days (70 to 80 degrees) and cool nights (40-50 degrees), creates the ideal setting for a summer of fun.  Campers are placed in living units of 16-24 campers and 3 to 4 staff where they sleep on cots in platform tents.  Unit placement is dependent on the type of program and age of girls.  The kitchen, dining hall, Health Hut, camp office, craft shed, Trading Post, ‘Biffys’ (bathroom/shower facilities with flush toilets and hot/cold running water), and swimming pool round out our camp facilities.

Camp Wasiu II is open to all girls entering grades 1-12.  Campers meet other girls from all over northern Nevada and California and interact with staff from around the United States and foreign countries.  Activities at camp can include swimming, hiking, archery (4th grade and above), cookouts, crafts, nature study, and canoeing, plus campfires, s’mores, and singing.  In addition to these activities, special activities are planned for each program to make each program unique.

Camp Wasiu II is THE place to be for fun, excitement, and adventure!  It's a special place where girls come together to laugh, share, learn, and explore in the beautiful outdoors.  At Camp Wasiu II campers have a chance to be independent, try new experiences, make new friends, and create life-long memories in a safe, supportive environment.  With a variety of programs available, there is something here for everyone.
