Discovery Day Camp
DISCOVERY DAY
CAMP is the only place to be for girls ages 6-11 (grades
1-6) this summer! Day Camp
is offered for six weeks throughout the months of June and
July and is the only all-girl day camp in the area.
Our day camp is held at Mamie Towles Elementary School in
Reno, Nevada. Each
week is centered on a fun and exciting theme - we'll be
cooking, dancing, acting, singing and putting all our
creativity into action. Each week girls will have the
opportunity to try new things, make new friends, earn Girl
Scout badges and Try-Its, and most of all, we'll be
having lots of fun! From arts and crafts to field trips,
games, songs and swimming, you definitely don't want to miss
out all the adventures this summer!
Any girl can
participate in Discovery Day Camp, even if they are not a
Girl Scout.

COST
The fee for an
entire week of 2008 season is only $120 per girl!
This fee includes a camp T-shirt, field trips and a daily
snack (campers must provide their own sack lunch each day).
A $10
registration fee will be added to the fee for any girl who
isn't already a Girl Scout.
A $25 deposit will be necessary necessary to reserve
a spot in this all girls day camp. Campership are available
to all families.

DISCOUNT
Register one
girl and a friend or sister and receive 30% off of each week
they both attend. Please indicate on the registration form
the name of the BFF (Best Friend Forever).
One discount per
week please.
PROGRAM
 The
Discovery
Day Camp program is based on weekly themes that are centered
on age appropriate activities. Whether it's science, art,
sports or theater, girls will receive a well-rounded program
that includes arts & crafts, field trips, games, songs and
swimming.
STAFF
Discovery Day
Camp is proud of its high quality counselors. The staff
ranges in age from 18-29 and are experienced. Each staff
member is trained specifically as a Discovery Day Camp
counselor and all share an enthusiasm for working with
girls.
ADULT TO GIRL RATIO
Discovery Day
Camp boasts the smallest adult to child ratio in Washoe
County for a recreation program.

We provide
one adult to every six girls in 1st through 3rd grade,

and one
adult to every eight girls in 4th through 6th grade.
PROGRAM AIDES
Program Aides
are invited to attend day camp as "junior counselors" for
$35 a week. Eligible girls are in grades 7-12 and have
previously completed
the Program Aide training.
