INTERN
Part-time position. The intern will support the overall
marketing and communications efforts of the Girl Scouts of the Sierra
Nevada Council including media relations, news and feature-story
development, website updates, publications, and promotions. The intern
works on a variety of projects to strengthen the council's visibility in
our 22-county service area, supports marketing efforts for the
fundraising and services departments, and provides information to
important audiences on Girl Scouting.
Qualifications:

Intern position is not paid;
must be receiving college credit for internship.

Hours are flexible; between
10-24 hours/week; within the work hours Mon-Fri, 9am-6:00pm.

MEMBERSHIP
SPECIALIST / COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Part-time position. Devise and implement Hispanic visibility campaign to
enhance the awareness of the Girl Scout program within the Hispanic
community. Responsibilities include recruiting,
placing and supervising volunteers. Collaborates with members of assigned
service units (neighborhoods) to further the goals and objectives of the
Girl Scouts. Assists in the extension and retention of Girl Scouting
within the council jurisdiction.
Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business,
communications, or related fields.

Strong organizational skills and the proven ability
to achieve goals.

Demonstrated experience in volunteer management and
recruitment.

Excellent interpersonal relations skills; able to
relate well with people from diverse backgrounds.

Bilingual (Spanish/English).

Willingness to work a flexible schedule including
evenings and weekends.

OUTREACH LEADER
Part-time position; flexible
schedule up to 20 hours per week including evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities include serving as a Girl Scout troop leader by planning,
coordinating and implementing various Girl Scout Programs. Maintain
compliance with GSSN policies including timecard and report deadline.
Attend the required orientation and eight hour Basic Leader Training.
Attend when possible additional recommended trainings. Take attendance at
every meeting and submit records and reports to the Outreach/Membership
Specialist regularly and as requested. Encourage participation of people
who can enrich the girls' experiences by sharing their skills and
knowledge. Recruit girls from the agreed upon school or neighborhood and
recruit volunteer adult leadership for the troop.
