Individual tent units at camp are available for rental, so groups are able to rent only the beds they need. Camp Wasiu II can accommodate up to 152 people. We can even provide great meals and fun activities like swimming, archery, stand-up paddleboarding, and canoeing on select dates! Camp rentals are available on a first come, first served basis.

About Camp Wasiu II

Camp Wasiu II, founded in 1988, is a beautiful, high-mountain overnight camp located in the Tahoe National Forest near Sierra City, California. Our location in the Lakes Basin Recreation area affords visitors incredible opportunities for outdoor retreat and recreation experiences.

Camp Wasiu II is located approximately 1.5 hours northwest of Reno, 3 hours northeast of Sacramento, and 1 hour north of Truckee. On our 45-acre property you’ll find a fresh water creek, beautiful aspen and pine trees, and lots of wildlife – mountain birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and deer are frequent sights at camp. There are many trails out of camp, which can take hikers to Packer Lake, the Sierra Buttes Lookout, Deer Lake, Upper and Lower Sardine Lake, and Sand Pond. The Pacific Crest Trail is easily accessible from camp and there are nearly 100 lakes in the area.
