Council-Led Troops address barriers to participation by having troops led by council staff. This allows us to expand the reach of Girl Scouts to all girls in Northern Nevada. Council-Led Troops participate in all of the same types of activities as a Volunteer-Led Troop, following the National Program Portfolio. Girl Scouts in these troops will earn badges in STEM, Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship, work on higher award projects, and participate in the cookie program, while making friends that last a lifetime! Through these activities girls gain courage, confidence, and character.
