A culture of appreciation is one where anyone working toward the Girl Scout mission feels respected and valued for their contributions and service. Every year, volunteers across the council take time to honor the outstanding service of their peers by recognizing them with Service Unit, GSSN, and GSUSA adult awards.

Are you interested in helping us honor the amazing volunteers serving girls across our council? Then we have a great opportunity for you!

GSSN is seeking 4-5 volunteers who are interested in joining the Volunteer Recognition Task Force (VRTF). The VRTF is responsible for the review and approval of all GSSN and GSUSA adult awards. VRTF members also provide guidance on council-wide volunteer appreciation activities and serve as advocates for volunteer appreciation within their Service Units.

VRTF members should be available to attend at least two in-person meetings at the GSSN Service Center in Reno, NV. During these meetings, the group will review and approve GSSN & GSUSA adult award nominations. These meetings will take place in the evenings (dinner will be provided) and typically last around two hours.

Meeting 1: Week of 2/19

Meeting 2: Week of 2/26

Meeting 3: If needed, Week of 3/5

Task Force members will also be asked to provide occasional feedback via email.

Interested in joining our volunteer recognition team? Let us know by sending a note to girlscouts@gssn.org or contacting Morgan at 775-322-0642 by January 31.
