Volunteerism is the lifeblood of the Girl Scout Movement.

Girl Scouts is the largest organization for girls in the world and the strength of the Girl Scout movement rests in the voluntary leadership of its adult members.

A BETTER WORLD:

When dedicated individuals offer their strengths in concert with Girl Scouts, everything happens for the better. Girls of every age and background learn from you what they can achieve.

 

 

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO VOLUNTEER:

Nothing but dedication. You don't need a degree, title or experience. All that is required is time and heart. When you volunteer your time, skills, talent, education and abilities, you grow and so does she.

 

 

VOLUNTEERS SERVE AS:

  • Task Group Members

  • Special Interest Volunteers

  • Troop/Group Leaders

  • First Aiders

  • Translators/Interpreters

  • Archivists

  • Trainers

  • Program Planners

  • Event Aides

  • Board Committees

 

AS A VOLUNTEER:

  • You can work directly with girls or other adults

  • Set your own schedule, one-time or ongoing

  • Volunteer as few or as many hour as you can

  • Share your skills and interest or learn new ones

 

WHO CAN BECOME A VOLUNTEER:

  • Career adults

  • Retired persons

  • Singles or couples

  • Parents

  • High School and college students

  • Women and men 18 years or older

For over nine decades, Girl Scouting has been the place where girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting cultivates compassion, courage and cooperation - character qualities that last a lifetime and give girls the power to become tomorrow's leaders in fields like business, sports, government, science, education and the arts.
