GIRL SCOUT COOKIE® HISTORY
Girl Scout Cookies® are a familiar part of American culture. For more than 90 years, Girl Scouts, with the enthusiastic support of their families, have helped ensure the success of local Girl Scout Cookie activities. The cookie sale dates back to 1917 when Girl Scouts baked their own cookies and sold them from baskets to their neighbors. As membership in Girl Scouting grew, so did the cookie sale. In 1934, Philadelphia's council initiated the first documented council-wide sale of commercially baked cookies. Two years later, the first national cookie sale was held. From its earliest beginnings to its current popularity, Girl Scouts who sell cookies have fun, develop valuable life skills and "make the world a better place" by helping to support Girl Scouting in their communities.

Cookie Pre-Sale Orders: Girl Scouts near you will be taking orders on their cookie order forms from January 10 to February 18, 2010. Girls will begin delivery of these cookies on February 19, 2010.
Public Booth Sales: From February 26 - March 27, 2010, you can buy your favorite Girl Scout Cookies at many locations throughout northern Nevada and eastern California.
