GIRL SCOUT COOKIE PROGRAM STARTS

IN JANUARY 2008!

Get ready, set, go! is this year's theme for the 2008 Girl Scout Cookie Program. Get ready for all the yummy cookies this year!

Door-to-door sales starts January 12, 2008.

Booth sales at retail stores starts March 1, 2008 and ends March 30, 2008.

PRODUCT SALES PROGRAM

For many girls, the Girl Scout Product Sales Program is their first experience in project management, goal setting and teamwork. They learn to greet people, manage money responsibly, and follow on a promise. Their reward is increased self-confidence and the satisfaction of reaching a goal successfully. Our program-related product sale includes: the ever popular and well-known Girl Scout Cookie Sale, QSP: Be A Reader Magazine Subscription Program, and our Fall Nut Sale. Your support of the Girl Scout product sale program helps to ensure success of troop activities and programs.

GIRL BENEFITS

Girls learn important life skills such as:

• Teamwork

• Goal Setting

• Money Management

• Communication Skills

In addition girls can earn awards such as a patch, charm, or incentives.

TROOP BENEFITS

Troops can earn money per item sold to be used as start up funds or troop activities including community service projects, program events and outdoor adventures. The focus of the product sale program is to provide troops with valuable learning skills and the necessary funds for Girl Scout program activities.

COUNCIL BENEFITS

The Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada Council uses proceeds from the product sale program to provide girl programs, adult training and support, facilities maintenance and financial assistance to girls. All the money from the fall sale stays in our local community to support our girls!
