Girl Scouts at the Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade

Girl Scout troops, families, and friends are invited to participate in the 35th  Annual Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade with the Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada group. This year's theme is "Merry and Bright."

1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Cost: FREE!
Registration Deadline: Saturday. Nov 26th

The majority of our group is typically made up of walkers. If your troop or service unit is planning to enter a float or vehicle, please make appropriate plans in accordance with parade policies:

-Floats must be decorated and construction must be safe, using non-toxic or flame retardant materials, and secured to the body of the float and the vehicle.
-Floats must be equipped with portable ABC fire extinguishers.
-Nothing may be distributed to onlookers from a moving vehicle or a float.
-Riders on floats must have secure seating or a secure handhold or safety harness if standing.
-Floats must not be overcrowded. Participants must not walk close to moving floats.
-An adult must accompany girls on any moving float.
-Any coupling of a trailer to a vehicle must be appropriate to the load and have a safety chain.
-Floats drawn by trucks and automobiles must be covered by automobile insurance in the name of the vehicle owners.

PLEASE NOTE: Troop Leaders are responsible for supervision and ratios of the troop and its friend/family members. Prepare accordingly and read through the Safety Activity Checkpoints under Parades and other large group gatherings. More specific information will be provided as the event gets closer.
