Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada has a special travel opportunity for all girls who will be cadettes and up by the summer of 2027, to travel to Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun.
This 11-day tour will take us through Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone, Odawara, Kyoto; Hiroshima, Himeji and Osaka.
This trip features Japan’s past and present, from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the ancient temples of Kyoto. Stroll through sacred shrines, see the Great Buddha in Kamakura, and catch a glimpse of majestic Mount Fuji. Engross yourself in the STEM-filled world of Akihabara. Feast on an authentic tempura dinner, and enjoy a special overnight stay at a traditional Japanese ryokan, an amazing cultural and learning experience for every girl.
Group Expectations
- Girl Scouts must be at least 14 years old at time of travel
- Travelers should anticipate a fast paced, high adventure trip
- Girl Scouts must be responsible and ready to work as a team
- This trip will have a maximum of 30 travelers

From afar, New Zealand and Australia may seem similar. An up-close look reveals distinct cultures and personalities.
Both descend from the same British colonial family tree, so you may struggle to tell the accents apart in the streets of Auckland and Sydney. But as you dig deeper in the Māori culture in Rotorua and Aboriginal roots along the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, each country's individual identity becomes clear..
