GSSN Council Assisted Troops (CAT)
What are CATs?
CATs stands for Council Assisted Troops. They provide volunteers with the opportunity to lead troop meetings, organize activities, and have the fun of cookie season, without the stress.
Council provides supplies, badge plans, uniforms and badges, cookie support, and leadership support in this hybrid volunteer and staff troop model.
CAT members are required to pay an annual membership fee of $100 and troop fees of $165 to participate in the program. Troop fees cover the uniform, patches & badges, and meeting supplies. The fee also covers staff time for cookie season and staff support. Training creation and facilitation for leaders is also covered. Uniforms will be handed out at meetings.
Financial assistance is available. Girl Scout membership runs Oct 1st - Sept 30th.
